Water Security Agency Launches Mobile Website

Today, Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency Ken Cheveldayoff launched the agency’s new mobile website in time for the spring runoff season.

“When the snow begins to melt, many in Saskatchewan are going to be looking for up-to-date information on water conditions in their part of the province,” Cheveldayoff said.  “This mobile website will give the people of Saskatchewan direct access to news and advisories so they can check stream flows and lake levels from the palm of their hand.”

The new mobile website gives users the ability to browse the most up-to-date news and advisories from Water Security Agency (WSA) on a smartphone or tablet.  Users can also search a list of communities and find their local area and view a chart of the stream flows and lake levels nearest them.

To access WSA’s mobile site, visit www.wsask.ca from a smartphone or tablet and bookmark the site on your mobile device.

WSA will also soon be implementing a Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feed to the news releases and advisories section on www.wsask.ca.  This will allow users to subscribe directly to a web feed from WSA then receive an email notification once new information has been posted.

The Water Security Agency was created to lead implementation of the 25 Year Saskatchewan Water Security Plan.  It will improve water management capacity and service to individuals, businesses and communities across Saskatchewan.  This new agency brings together, for the first time, all of the major responsibilities related to water quality and quantity.
